Empowering society through citizen engagement and better governance
The Democracy and Culture Foundation engages current and next-generation leaders in creating networks and designing policies to build more resilient democracies for the present and the future.
Our Think-Talk-Do impact chain is designed to combine “bottom-up” with “top-down” solutions that empower society through citizen engagement and better governance. The Foundation currently focuses on four programmatic areas:
Social justice
migration, economic equality, intergenerational engagement
Digital Technologies:
Digital access, digital rights, disinformation
Sustainability:
Climate change, environmental degradation
Culture:
Inclusivity, creativity, freedom of expression
To turn Think and Talk into action, the Foundation implements multi-year programmes, with workshops and “citizens panels” serving to frame, develop, and stress test proposed policy solutions.
To this end, the Foundation engages in cooperative efforts with leading public and privates-sector actors, as well as civil society organizations and grass roots activists, in the conviction that cooperation, rather than confrontation, is central to the process of strengthening democratic values and processes. At the core of all our work is a commitment to intergenerational engagement and the transference of democratic processes and values for the future.
