The Foundation identifies pressing issues, from migration to disinformation to climate change, and then undertakes a process of collective intelligence and deliberative democracy to propose concrete solutions that we can then enact through our own programs and those of partner organizations.

How we do it
By identifying the critical issues affecting democracy at its most practical levels, we bring together original thinkers and powerful decision-makers to debate and develop societal solutions. We work to turn these solutions into specific policy proposals, then develop strategies towards their implementation. What occurs on a DCF stage is part of the DCF and New York Times reports, and is held to the same editorial standards as what appears in print and online platforms. As a result, our goal is always to treat audiences, interview subjects, speakers, partners, advertisers and others fairly and openly, and to be transparent in our dealings.

The Athens Democracy Forum took place September 28-30, 2022 in Athens where we examined the lessons learned from the pandemic and the rise in populism and participated in the debate on how we should confront the economic and social fallout.
